The slice tool is easy, sure, but it's not standards-compliant. It creates a whole lot of unnecessary TD tags. It's better, if harder, for one to manually cut the image into segments with carefully placed guides, and assemble it with CSS. Or use the slice tool to slice the page, and reassemble it with CSS, manually.

/ironically, has never used an image'd design.
